Collegiate Road Nationals May 4-6, 2018

Team captain Grayson Rosenfeld made the long and logistically complicated trip to Grand Junction, Colorado for the USA Cycling Collegiate Road Nationals this year. For the second year in a row, Tulane alumus Steve Laiche provided host housing for Grayson and team coach Dustin Drewes. As always, going from sea level to a race in the Rocky Mountains at 5,000 feet was a valuable, if somewhat painful, learning experience. Grayson represented Tulane in all three "Division I" races - Road Race, Time Trial, and Criterium. With an even 100 riders on the line for the Road Race, Grayson finished 69th with a time of 3:19:22 in the race that was somewhat dominated by Colorado riders. The following day he rode the 30.3 km Individual Time Trial, finishing 42nd at 39:05. The following day's Criterium, however, ended a little early for Grayson when he was involved in a crash and was unable to continue. Full results can be found on the USA Cycling Results Page

Looking Forward

With the end of the Spring semester, most of Tulane's riders, some of whom graduated, are scattered around the country until Fall when we are looking forward to recruiting some new team members, racing some area cyclocross events, and putting in some miles before the annual Varsity-to-Varsity ride with LSU from Baton Rouge to New Orleans.
